.
Why is it important for kids?
We firmly believe that participating in extra-curricular activities is an added value for young people. Through these experiences, which enrich and inspire them, children develop the skills and attitudes that they need in order to become more complete, confident and determined adults. Qualities that colleges, universities and employers are attracted to.
Doing the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award is an investment in the future of our kids.
How is it structured?
The Award Framework is the Award’s enduring structure that has barely changed since 1956. The Award’s unique structure encourages young people to set and achieve goals in four sections for bronze and silver, with a fifth section at Gold level. How long does it take?
To earn an Award, young people must show persistence, commitment and self-development skills.
DofE activities adapt to their school, university or work commitments, carrying them out in their personal time in a flexible way.
Participants can choose to include activities in the programme that they are already doing, for example sports, volunteering, arts, etc. Giving it a smart goal.
The Award consists of three levels and four sections and is designed to provide a balanced programme of personal development and challenge. Participants complete all four sections of each level to earn the Award. At the Gold level, participants must also complete a Gold residential project.
